Category: Bernard Meninsky

Bernard Meninsky (1891-1950) was brought to England from the Ukraine shortly after his birth. He studied in Paris and at the Slade and became a ballet set designer and illustrator (of Milton’s L’Allegro and Il Pensoroso) as well as a painter. He was greatly admired for his portraits. The Tate holds his work.
